Aaron Carter Lashes out at Brother Nick After DUI Arrest Support Statement

After Nick promised his younger brother help, Aaron retaliated with attack, addressing how to recover from “gossip and defamation” and accusing Nick of handling the situation unfairly.

Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter reached out to his little brother, Aaron Carter, over the weekend offering to help the singer out after Aaron’s DUI arrest on Saturday (July 15) in Georgia. In a tweet on Sunday (July 16), Nick wrote, “To my brother: I love u no matter what & if u feel the need to reach for help, I am here and willing to help you get better.”

The offer for help came after Carter was arrested on Saturday night (July 15) on charges of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects. Madison Parker, believed to be Carter’s girlfriend, was also charged with possession of marijuana, obstruction of law enforcement officers and possession of drug-related objects, according to reports.

The 29-year-old singer was scheduled to perform in Kansas City Saturday night but was forced to cancel, according to a tweet from his account. He was released on bail on Sunday, according to the Associated Press. Nick followed up with a tweet that alluded to some family drama, which seemed to rub Aaron the wrong way.

Aaron responded with a lengthy tweet in which he explained that he has a license for medical marijuana for “his long standing anxiety,” adding “if my own blood truly cared about my well-being, why wouldn’t he call me directly and have a conversation instead of making this about him through a very public forum? That’s not cool at all to use me for his PR and kick me while I am down.”

Sister Lauren Kitt Carter also weighed in on the growing public family drama, asking Carter to have Parker text their new number to her since she claimed he changed it without telling her.

Aaron followed up on Monday morning (July 17) with some defiant tweets about walking away from “gossip and defamation.”
